Originally the business was formed as a small Office Furniture shop in Mansfield during the late 90’s mainly for the fast selling office computer chair market. The business was initially aimed at the domestic market selling chairs directly to the public. Before long, the business had developed a reputation for selling top quality products at trade prices, and it soon followed that local businesses, Offices, Schools, Hotels & Local Authorities etc. began making enquiries and placing their own orders.
Selling ‘like for like’ with both the main UK Office supply outlets and, the smaller but still more established Office Furniture Supply Stores, the business maintained the policy of providing a first class service at a very low mark up price. The business was re-branded in 2003 when the name Working Chairs was introduced to promote the then new internet side of the business. The objective was to create awareness of our service across the UK offering the same discounted lines by mail order. Since then, the product ranges have both grown and widened considerably and the success has been surpassingly encouraging. We now have satisfied customers from the South coast of England to the far north of Scotland and Northern Ireland too. We have many products that we can often deliver within 24/48 hours of the order being placed, at no extra cost, using a comprehensive fast track dispatch system. At our current limits where stock allows, we can dispatch unlimited volumes to approximately 200 separate addresses daily.
